As a donut enthusiast, Boston, being the birthplace of Dunkin’ Donuts, has fierce competition among donut shops.
Let me share with you some donut shops we’ve tried and enjoyed.
Blackbird Doughnuts
★Address: FENWAY 20 Kilmarnock St, Boston, MA 02115
Other Locations
Blackbird Doughnuts has seven locations throughout Boston and Cambridge. This artisanal donut shop crafts small-batch, hand-cut donuts with a focus on unique flavor combinations. From their classic Old Fashioned to the more adventurous Honey Habanero, Blackbird offers a diverse range of options that never disappoint. Highly recommended the Tiramisu flavor, and visited the shop as early as you can.
Mister Monut
★Address: 873 Main St, Waltham, MA 02451
Our must-go donut place in Waltham. It’s a small place, but it’s our favorite mochi donut spot in the Greater Boston area.
Their packaging is exquisite, and they offer a good variety of flavors. As for the donuts themselves, they’re on the less sweet side.
They also sell some kroffle and Taiwanese fried chicken, which we haven’t tried yet.
Rocco’s Doughnuts Company
★Address: 3 Colonial Drive, Westborough, Massachusetts 01581
Other Locations
Rocco’s also located in Burlington, Worcester, and Milbury.
Their donuts are large and dense, with authentic American-style flavors.
They also offer savory bagels. Some of the donuts are filled, and our favorite flavor is the Apple Fritter.
Mochi Dough
★Address: 1245 Worcester St, Natick, MA 01760
Other Locations
The Mochi Donut chain, which spans across America, currently only has two locations in Massachusetts, Boston and Natick.
We visited the Natick branch, which is situated on the second floor of the Natick Mall. It has a beautiful flower wall.
Perhaps due to its recent opening, we experienced a longer wait time.
However, when we finally got our order, the donuts were freshly baked and delicious, giving off a delightful aroma.
Kane’s Donuts
★Address: 90 Oliver St, Boston, MA 02110
Other Locations
Kane’s has been a Boston staple since 1955, renowned for its classic and consistently delicious donuts.
Their Honey-Dipped and Boston Cream varieties are iconic, but they also innovate with seasonal flavors and gourmet creations.
It’s great that we could enjoy our donuts in the dining area of the office building.
At the time, there were even Christmas decorations, creating a wonderful atmosphere.
The Donut Stand
★Address:154 Turnpike Rd, Southborough, MA 01772
A small and exquisite American donut shop, I personally prefer their savory flavors.
Overall, our favorite donut shops are Blackbird Doughnuts and Kane’s, especially for Kane’s honey-dip donuts. If we’re talking about Mochi Donuts, we highly recommend Mister Donut.
